Oh, my word this book! I absolutely loved it! There were some moments when I was even going ‘OH SHE TOLD YOU!’ and going all out. This series so far has been one hell of a series. I have gotten into the drama of it all as it unfolds.
The characters have taken on a different light as the story unfolds. Kitty changes and gets her own parts to the book which we didn’t see before. Astrid, Nick, and Rachel are still there but we get to know Rachel’s family and see some backside to it all. Heck, we even get Charlie’s backside as well! This book was drawn together with so much drama and moments where you feel like you are watching a soap opera and can’t put it down or else you will miss the next piece of vital information!
Poor Rachel though. She gets the brunt end of the stick with some of the things that go on and she doesn’t even want what happens. I feel so bad for her. Of course, we can’t miss the best friend of Rachel! Oh, how I love this character! We didn’t see much of her in this story which is upsetting! She is one of my favorite side characters! I hope as I read book three she makes more of an appearance!
Five out of five stars!
Oh my gosh! This book needs to come with a box of tissues! I could not put it down! The end had me bawling my eyes out and calling Maas the new R.R. Martin! She had me about to cry my eyes out thinking noooooo! I read the synopsis for her next book before I got to the end so I was thinking the absolute worst. The worst came to be and somehow was fixed. That’s some crooked stuff right there! Authors are why I have trust issues. I recommend this whole dang series with no shame! I need someone to rant and rave about it with!
Five out of five stars!
I picked up 12 books at the beginning of April hoping to read all of them. I only got through eight.
- Tempests and Slaughter
- A Court of Thorns and Roses
- The Dancers Dancing
- The Voting Game
- The Gospel According to Blindboy
- A Court of Mist and Fury
- A Court of Wings and Ruin
- Long May She Reign
This book was crazy. The ups and downs throughout the book were attention holding. Maas throws a curveball at every corner. The end really messed me up because Feyre FOUND HERSELF woot woot! She was totally worthy of her title and claim. Feyre is one tough lady and is an amazing addition to Maas’ dominant women she is creating. I really hope she continues as I continue this series to gobble up book three before the next one comes out.
Five out of five stars! 🙂
I was so happy to be able to read this series back to back. This series is one of my favorite series! I kept seeing on Instagram the first two books leading up to the release of the third book. It intrigued me so I went to Goodreads to read the synopsis. I read the books and shoved them to my significant just so I could talk to him about them.
The end of this book makes me think there will be a fourth book. I can honestly say I really hope so! Each character was different from the next and brought something to the table. Keeping up with six characters was made simple in the layout of this book. The way this book looked like documents compiled together was refreshing. The storyline was different and kept me in the book at every corner.
I fully recommend this series to anyone that likes science fiction. Heck I would recommend it even if you don’t usually read science fiction!
Five out of five stars! 🙂
So I raved about Illuminae and I can honestly say this book was an amazing second book to the series. I would not recommend if you don’t like multiple viewpoints in a story. If you can deal with that READ THIS SERIES! I am currently moving on to Obsidio to finish it off.
I love the characters and science fiction is usually not my thing but this series has drawn me in and kept me. I love the viewpoints of all of the characters. I love the different style of the book. Like they compiled documents into a book to tell the story. I got these books from the library to read and plan to buy the series asap. 🙂
5 out of 5 stars!!
I decided to read this book because I fell in love with Broken Harbor and can I just say WOW. I loved the main character and all the faults she had but most of all I love the twists Tana French can put in her stories of crime. She has a gift for making you see each suspect as the killer one at a time before she finally springs the actual killer on you. She throws hints don’t worry but if you get as wrapped up in the story as I do you won’t pay attention to them until she wants you to. Tana French has a gift and I can say I will be reading more of her books.
This story is about a female detective on the murder squad in Ireland who has a hard time in her job with the other guys and gets thrown a case of what looks like just a lovers tiff. Spoiler it is a lovers tiff but not like you expect and it isn’t what the lead detectives think either. They go back and forth with ideas of what could have happened but none of it seems to fit until finally they figure out their killer and it isn’t someone they expected at all. I recommend reading this book to find out more!
I should forewarn you that this post will have spoilers. I just can’t help myself!
I read The Thousandth Floor and absolutely loved the storyline and when The Dazzling Heights came out, I just couldn’t help but buy the book to read it and continue the story. I will be honest with you I was hoping for Avery and Atlas to stay together. I was hoping their love story would last and when I got to the point where they decided to end it and he decided Dubai was where he was going to go I about cried. I had to put the story down and take a moment to let it all sink in. The hopes I had for this couple just got crushed! Poor Avery never asked to be perfect and be looked upon as the perfect child where everything was handed to her. The one thing she truly wanted was denied.
Another character that had me spinning was Calliope. She is just someone you want to hate but at the same time can’t help but love throughout this story. Her mother should have curved the want for expensive things but at the same time, they were not in the best of situations because of their social status. She seemed to only want a true relationship with Atlas even after she marked him for a con. She only had true faults and an upbringing from her mother to deal with. This was her only true downfall in my opinion.
This story was just one I could not put down when I started to read it. I cannot wait for the third book in the series to come out!
This novel was something I had to read for an Irish Literature class but I can honestly say that when I find time to hit up a bookstore that has her whole series I will be buying it. This book is what I would call an enthralling mystery that is a very good. I was caught in the storyline from the moment I opened the cover until I closed the book.
The storyline had you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happened next. The characters felt predictable but in the end, everything took a twist. Each time the detectives moved on to a new suspect it would make the reader think that that suspect was the one. You wouldn’t doubt their ability to know what was going on but you probably wouldn’t see the end coming because I know I didn’t. This is definitely a story for all the people who love to read mystery.
